What drives pharmaceutical warehousing costs?
Pallet positions or other storage units describe capacity, while goods movements, orders and picks describe activity. Temperature zones, security needs, batch and expiry records, reporting, returns and qualification work add to the service profile. Two projects with the same pallet inventory can therefore have different operating costs.
A pallet storage rate is only part of the total
A per-pallet rate does not explain goods receipt, dispatch, picking, minimum volumes, system costs or quality activities. Compare like-for-like units and separate one-off onboarding costs from recurring operations. The quotation should identify assumptions and exclusions.
Data needed for a warehouse quotation
Provide product group and status, approved storage conditions, pallet type, average and peak inventory, monthly receipts and dispatches, orders, order lines, picks, recipients, returns, reporting and start date.
- Product and temperature profile
- Average and peak pallet stock
- Orders, lines and picking units
- Additional services and desired start
Project-specific pricing after suitability review
No standard price is published without a defensible operating profile. The quotation follows a check of suitable zones, available capacity and the requested process. It sets out costed units, assumptions, onboarding work and recurring charges so that the scope can be reviewed.
